Travis Oglesby and Vic Davilla homered and Bryan Morse pitched a complete game to lead the North Shore Spirit to a 4-2 victory over the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium.

Oglesby, in playing his first game back from the disabled list, homered off New Jersey starter Josh Brey (5-3) in the top of the second inning, his twelfth, to give the Spirit a 1-0 lead.

North Shore increased their lead to 2-0 on a Yuri Sanchez RBI single in the fifth. Vic Davilla then homered with a man on in the seventh to extend the Spirit lead to 4-0.

New Jersey broke onto the scoreboard in the seventh on John Lindsey's RBI double, driving home Elvis Corporan, who had singled.

Morse was outstanding all night. The Jackals attempted to rally in the bottom of the ninth. After a leadoff single, Morse retired the next two hitters before giving up consecutive singles. A bases loaded walk to Darren Ciraco cut the lead to 4-2, but Morse (7-2) retired the final batter, Mike Rucci, on a fly ball to center to end the game.

The Spirit meet the Jackals in game two on Friday night at 7:05.
