The Spirit are on a roll! They have won 3 of 4, 7 of 8, 11 of 15.
Tonight they beat Elmira in the series opener, 8-5. The critical inning was the 6th. The Spirit, trailing 5-4 after Jake Mullis gave up a 3 run blast to Onix Mercado, put together a big rally. Marcos Agramonte hit a single then got to 2nd on Weir's walk; Rob Fischer then singled Marcos home to tie it. Vic Davilla followed him up with a 3-run homer to make it 8-5, the final margin. Jake Mullis got the win and Alex Hererra came in to close it out for another save.
The Rox also lost tonight, to New Haven County, 8-1 at home, so the Spirit's margin to Brockton is down to a mere three games.
AS for the spotty updates of late, I'll be perfectly honest and frank: I haven't been listening to the games. I've been busy at night. And I don't think it's worth making subpar posts that basically just regurgitate the score and a few plays that you can read about anywhere. The point of this blog is to go further into details, and if I don't listen to the whole game, I can't really do that, so I see no point in updating just the score and one or two things because you can get that anywhere. But I did make this post for the purpose of getting this blog back in action. But in the future, if there's no post, realize that that's the reason why. I'm not just being lazy :)
