The Spirit are looking to hire a new director of ticket sales.............
again.
Granted, this last guy wasn't perfect, but we all remember what happened the last time we had a vacancy in this position in the middle of the winter: ENTER SETH... AHHHHHHHHHH!
I think this is a GREAT move!. Let's face it: Yes, Seth was a disaster; however Mike didn't do much but run around like a chicken with his head cut off. Granted Seth left such a mess that he had no other choice. It seems as if the position won't pay enough to attract someone with the experience required to get the job done well. On the other hand, these types of jobs, at this level always seem to go to interns and/or kids with some limited experience or just out of school. Mike Baxter, I thought had some experience when he arrived; maybe he got a better offer?.
Quite frankly, this is common. If there's anything that's apparent, it's that the nepotism that was rampant in '03-'04 is still lingering. It drove out qualified folks like Andy Seguin.
I miss the Seguin brothers too. I used to like sitting with their folks @ "The Wink" up in Bangor watching the games....nice folks.
Oh Oh.... here comes that nasty memory of Jake Whiteside doubling off Bic for a walk-off win.....OUCH. Bic left his mark in the "clubhouse" that night. I wonder if Nick got the bill for that one?.
All this stuff about the ticket sales people is sad but true....hopefully this year we'll get a guy that's eiither experienced or is an excellent person in that field.
And as for Gabe....I've been filming those St. Mary's games (all home games but that game on Sat.) and she IS a great player. I'm gonna enjoy filming this twam play in the tounrament....they're all great
