Suck it, Quebec

Matt Bishop pitched 8 2/3 shutout innings and Donny Langdon came in to bail him out of a bases loaded jam in the 9th as the Spirit beat the bush league Quebec Crapitales 5-0 in the first of three at Fraser.

Tonight reminded me why I hate Quebec as much as I do. Seriously, F$@!# those a-holes. In the 4th inning, with the Spirit up 3-0, the rain pouring down, and the 4 1/2 inning 'official game' cutoff approaching, Laplante and the Caps did everything they could to hold the game up. Laplante argued for about 5 minutes on a very clear cut call, they called for the grounds crew to bring out new dirt for the mound, and called to have them rake up the batters box area, all to stall and get the game to rain out before it got to the official halfway mark. It was major BS. I hate Laplante.

Eddie Lantigua is so annoying, so it was good to see him go 0-4... chump.

Quebec uses the kind of bush-league, cheat-to-win tactics that are more at home in European soccer than baseball. It's such a joke that a team can be owned by the commissioner. That pisses me off every single time.

This performance by the Spirit is somewhat infuriating, to be honest--- they keep showing flashes of being a great team, but they continue to lag at or around .500. Taking a series against these a-holes would be a good way to start a permanant turnaround.
