Rumors And Tranactions And Pitchers......Oh My

An anonymous poster has left a comment saying that Dennis Robinson has left the team "in order to go to school". This makes sense since school starts up in Septemeber.....but this is just a rumor. still,if true this woud be a big blow to the Spirit as we would again be down a starter and have one of our better pitchers (save a few games) gone.

Out of curiousity I went to the Can-Am site & was looking at the transaction wire to check this out and didn't see him gone. However two pieces of activitity caught my eye.....

North Shore: Released OF Anton French.
This took them long enough to post up. He's been gone since Friday, according to reports. this realy only caught my eye cause it said "North Shore" in the front....the next one caught my eye for a few reasons.....

Brockton: Traded RHP John Kelly to New Jersey in exchange for future considerations and two players to be named later.
Why would brockton trade John Kelly, the best pitcher in the league (behind Chris Farley XD), to New Jersey for 2 players to be named later and future considerations? I can undertsand that New Jersey needs him to keep in the hunt for the overall best record, but Brockton REALLY needs good pitching to help keep them in the playoff race. Brockton may get a good deal out of this in the end,but right now I don't know if it was the right move.....at least if they want to get into the playoffs.

This trade really confuses me....any thoughts?

ALSO: Don't forget to vote in the new round of "Who's Now" which is right below this post! ^_^

Notes from the Morning After

-Yesterday's brawl was captured in entirety by TV cameras. I expect Dave will have some footage for us within a few days so we can get another good look at it.

-We also did a few 're-enactment videos' in the parking lot after the game, those will be on YouTube ASAP.

-We created the official Eddie Lantigua Haters United group on Facebook here

-Eric, Dave, Alan, Cathy and I are taking the trek to Brockton on Tuesday night... anyone else going to the Land of the Drunks? Let me know and we can sit together... Also, anyone thinking about going to Nashua next Friday night?

-The Spirit added former Worcester INF Robert Tewksbury to the lineup before last night's game and cut Vic Davilla.

Former Red Sox Pitcher Rich Garces Signs with the Nashua Pride

How hilarious is this? It'll be GREAT to see El Guapo again. I had thought he dropped off the face of the earth...

He was great back in his days with the Sox. It's early to say but does anyone not think this is a big move for Nashua?

The man I love to hate stays in the league

January 11, 2007

Brockton: Traded INF/C Mike Torres to the Grays in exchange for future considerations.

So... Mr. "I'm too good for the Can Am League" is now on the Grays.

Justice? You bet.

Rojas to Washington

The Can-Am League announced today that the contract of Nashua Pride catcher Tommy Rojas was sold to the Washington Nationals. He is the second Pride player sold to a major league team (Jamie Baker – San Diego Padres) since the end of the 2006 season and the fifth overall league player.

...so....... maybe Rojas will get cut after Spring Training, and will sign with the Spirit? It's not out of the realm of possibility...

Marcos gone

Sussex continued its masterful rebuilding plan today, releasing old friend Marcos Agramonte and stifftacular OF Josh Ury. I hope Marcos lands with another team, maybe the Grays.
