Red Sox Advance To 07 ALCS!

Behind a strong pitching performance from Curt Schilling and back-to-back homers from Big Papi & Manny the Red Sox swept the Angels and advance to the ALCS for the first time since 04 with a 9-1 win!

Now we need to wait and see if the Yankees' aging starter,Roger Clemens, can hold off the Indians and keep the Yankees' playff dreams alive....or see if the Indians can beat the future HoFer and advance to face the BoSox.

As of 7:21 PM it's the Indians 2, Yankees 0 after 2....
7:32 PM: Clemens stirkes out batter and is pulled from the game. As he leaves he meets a standing ovation. Will this be his last game ever? Who knows.......especially with his actions these past few years. Phillip Hughes now in for the Yanks, still losing 2-0 in the 3rd
7:59 PM: Damon rbi-single makes it 3-1 Indians after 3. Inning ended on a Jeter double-play...the Yanks 3rd of the game so far--ouch!
9:54 PM:Took an hour and a half trip to Wendy's,CVS,Flax Pond and back.....I come back in and the Yanks are up 8-4 after 7.5 innings. We should now add the Yankees to a list of things that won't die that includes Freedy Kruger & Jason
10:16 PM: Yankees hold on to force game 4, an 8-4 win

Game 3 NLDS Action TONIGHT

So....tonight's an off day for the Sox. However, there's still good MLB Postseason action going on tonight on TBS....
6:00pm - Arizona Diamondbacks at Chicago Cubs, Game 3
9:30pm - Philadelphia Phillies at Colorado Rockies, Game 3

Arizona & Colrado both lead their series' 2-0. One more win each and they face each other in the NLCS.

And is anyone else happy that the Indians have become Yankee killers? Last night's game between those two was an aweomse game,if anyone watched. The only thing that dominated besides great pitching was the presence of all those bugs. My God.....I've NEVER seen so many insects flying around like that in such a small area.

I think the following picture basically embodied New York's late innings, and another pic I just found funny......Both courtesy of BostonDirtDogs.com:

^^ There were MORE bugs than that latter in the game... ^^

ALSO: If you didn't get enough of that walkoff homer then take a look below.... =]

EDIT: 2007 NLCS is set....Rockies Vs Diamondbacks on Thursday!

D@MN!$@#!# - Farley to the Yankees - Spirit Roster Shakeup - 2 ex-Rox on their way to Lynn

SPIRIT ROSTER SHAKEUP

Bye, bye, Farley:
North Shore Spirit RHP Chris Farley (pictured) had his contract sold to the Yankees as announced by the Can-Am League today. Farley is the fifth Can-Am player purchased by a major league organization since the beginning of the 2007 season.

Farley had a record of 8-2 with an earned run average of 1.41 in 10 starts with the Spirit. He struck out 71 batters and allowed only 15 walks in 63 2/3 innings pitched

----

Josue Matos and Vic Davilla were also removed from the roster.

---

Two ex- Rox on board: Joe Hough and Gary Galvez on their way to North Shore. Not sure how we got them -- probably a trade for Farley's reversionary rights? We obviously needed a starter to replace the loss of Farley, so hello Galvez... Hough instantly becomes the starting LF - he's hitting .240 this year with a pretty good .340 OBP.

----

The team has 'roster stability' now - 10 pitchers, 12 position players, and the way we attack Half #2 now looks something like this:

Starting Pitchers
M. Bishop
J. Siak
R. Bicondoa
S. McNamara
G. Galvez

Relievers
J. Baker
B. Simon
D. Langdon
D. Robinson

Closer
D. Drage

Starting lineup
C- Trezza
1B- Luis Lopez
2B- Roche
SS- Perez
3B- Torres
LF- Hough
CF- Weed
RF- Rodriguez
DH- Josue Lopez

UIF - Gilbert Gil
Backup C - Chris Wood
Backup OF - Jared McGuire

Torres, Gil, Weed and Luis Lopez have all proven to be flexible in terms of what position they can play.

We now have a 'complete roster', although I wish it were a bit stronger overall. Losing Farley will hurt... bad. The pitching staff is still the best in the league, however.

Let's go get 'em...
