Rumors And Tranactions And Pitchers......Oh My

An anonymous poster has left a comment saying that Dennis Robinson has left the team "in order to go to school". This makes sense since school starts up in Septemeber.....but this is just a rumor. still,if true this woud be a big blow to the Spirit as we would again be down a starter and have one of our better pitchers (save a few games) gone.

Out of curiousity I went to the Can-Am site & was looking at the transaction wire to check this out and didn't see him gone. However two pieces of activitity caught my eye.....

North Shore: Released OF Anton French.
This took them long enough to post up. He's been gone since Friday, according to reports. this realy only caught my eye cause it said "North Shore" in the front....the next one caught my eye for a few reasons.....

Brockton: Traded RHP John Kelly to New Jersey in exchange for future considerations and two players to be named later.
Why would brockton trade John Kelly, the best pitcher in the league (behind Chris Farley XD), to New Jersey for 2 players to be named later and future considerations? I can undertsand that New Jersey needs him to keep in the hunt for the overall best record, but Brockton REALLY needs good pitching to help keep them in the playoff race. Brockton may get a good deal out of this in the end,but right now I don't know if it was the right move.....at least if they want to get into the playoffs.

This trade really confuses me....any thoughts?

ALSO: Don't forget to vote in the new round of "Who's Now" which is right below this post! ^_^

And that's why you stay 'til the end of the game

It's cliche, I know - but the reason why it's worth it to wait in line for 2 hours, or get ripped off by some lowlife scalper, is because you never know what you're going to see at the ballpark.

So, the Red Sox are now 2-41 when trailing after 8 innings. Thank you Mike Lowell, Jason Varitek and Coco Crisp! Oh, and don't forget Lester, Timlin and Gagne.

The ovation for Lester when he came out of the bullpen before the game gave me the chills, and being part of the crowd as we all stood for the ENTIRE 9th inning was amazing. Belief is back!

Video from Fenway as Timlin gets a big K with the bases loaded in the 8th, the crowd sings Sweet Caroline, and Lugo gets a big ovation to start the bottom of the 8th:

In Brockton we had another nailbiter:
(from the Spirit site)

By John Leahy Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Jerson Perez went 3-for-4 and Julio Soriano fanned Brockton's Lee Rubin with the tying run on in the bottom of the ninth as the North Shore Spirit held off the Brockton Rox for a 6-5 victory at Campanelli Stadium in game two of their three game series.

The Spirit broke on top 2-0 in the second against Rox lefthander Bryan Morse, who had one-hit the Spirit in his last start. Luis Lopez singled and and one out later moved to third on a Jersen Perez single. Josue Lopez delivered a clutch two-run single for the 2-0 Spirit advantage.

Brockton took the lead in the bottom of the fifth against Spirit starter Matt Bishop (8-4) with a four-run inning. Three straight hits opened the inning, with Jared Edmonson's infield hit scoring the first run. Lee Rubin blasted a three run homer later on in the inning for a 4-2 Rox lead.

The Spirit rallied right back in the top of the sixth. Mike Torres and Luis Lopez cracked back to back doubles to open the inning for a run to make it a 4-3 game. One out later, Jerson Perez singled and was doubled in by Allen Mottram to tie things up at 4-4.

North Shore then plated a pair of runs in the seventh, on an RBI double by Jerson Perez and a wild pitch by Rox reliever Jon Koch ( 0-3) for the sixth run.

The Rox were not done, as they rallied in the bottom of the ninth for the second straight evening. With one out, Melvin Falu doubled off of Spirit reliever Brandon Martin and then scored on a Jared Edmonson single to make it 6-5. Martin fanned Jorge Mejia for the second
out, and Soriano came out of the pen and struck out Rubin swinging.

*
Very nice.

So, back to Fraser tomorrow - time to finish off the sweep. Bring your brooms and hawaiian shirts!

Off to Fenway...

I'm going to Fenway tonight to see Jon Lester's return. So, sadly, you will not all get the privilege of following along with my emotional rollercoaster live-blog of tonight's Spirit @ Rox game. ;)

I'll have a recap of the Spirit game [as well as some pics from Fenway] upon my return.

Wow

Christ on a Cracker, that game got DRAMATIC. Wow. My pulse is still returning to normal after that one. DAMN those Rox are a FEISTY bunch.

The live-blog below this post is pretty much an accurate stream-of-consciousness rambling of what I was feeling in the 9th.

The Spirit took a fairly comfortable 6-3 lead into the 9th inning, but Derek Drage continued to be a 'heart attack closer' tonight, letting the Rox crawl right back into the game.

Rox slugger Francisco LeBron came up to bat with the bases loaded and 2 out and drew a four-pitch walk to make it 6-4.

Then, John Allen hit a ground ball up the middle that was booted by Gary Roche, continuing the game and allowing a run to score.

Tony Gonzalez came to the plate with the bases loaded and a chance to win the game. After a nail-biting at bat, Drage reared back and whiffed Gonzalez to finally end the game and give Gary Galvez a well-deserved victory.

Gary Galvez (is it bad that I want to write Gary Glitter?) gave up 2 runs on 6 hits in 6.2 strong innings of work.

Donny Langdon came in and got the last out in the 7th, but gave up a leadoff single in the 8th. He was then replaced by Jamie Baker, who came in to face Francisco LeBron.

Baker walked LeBron, putting runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out, but Baker escaped the jam and got three huge outs to maintain the 6-3 lead --- every bit of which would be needed.

At the plate, Mike Torres and Anton French starred with 3 hits apiece. Torres also had 2 RBI on the day, including an RBI triple in the 8th.

Luis Lopez added an RBI double in the 8th inning to score Torres with what would end up being the winning run.

Nice.

Gametime

The Spirit are in Brockton, and it's time to show those clowns to our south who's boss. Let's end the 'Big Dig Series' on a positive note and keep up the push to the pennant.

FINAL
Spirit 6, Rox 5

Starters

Mike McTamney (ROX) vs.
Gary Galvez (NSS)

Top 1:

Anton French hits a leadoff single, but the Spirit put on the hit and run with Gary Roche, Roche flies out to right, and French is easy pickings to be doubled off. Don't ya just love when that happens? The next batter, Torres, popped out to end the inning.

Bot 1:

Nunez rips a one-out triple. LeBron then grounds out 4-3, scoring Nunez. 1-0 Rox.

Top 2:

With the bases loaded, Allen Mottram hit a grounder to short; the Rox got the out at 2nd, then threw the ball away attempting to turn two, letting two runs come in the back door. 2-1 Spirit.

Top 3:

Roche (all together now: Salio El Sooooooooooooooooool) hits a triple with one out. Torres then hits an RBI single to pick up his 48th RBI of the season to make it 3-1. A potential big inning is killed as Lopez whiffs and Torres is caught stealing - strike 'em out throw 'em out.

Bot 3:

Rubin and Coronado start the inning with hits, putting runners on the corners with nobody out.

Nunez gets an RBI, but not in a way Brockton would like: he grounds into a 6-4-3 double play. I'll take the 2 outs in exchange for the run, thanks. 3-2 Spirit.

Bot 5:

With runners at first and third Spirit botch a run down. They get the runner caught between first and second, but the runner at 3rd breaks for home. The Spirit then throw home and the runner is safe. 3-3.

Top 6:

Perez unties it with a 2-out, RBI single, plating Mike Torres. Perez is thrown out trying to reach 2nd on the play. We lose WAY too many baserunners out there. WAY too many. 4-3 Spirit.

Bot 6:

The Rox squander a leadoff walk - and the Spirit will carry a slim 4-3 lead into the final third of the game. Let's get a few more, eh?

Bot 7:

Donny Langdon comes in to pitch for the Spirit with 1 on and 2 out. Langdon gets Coronado to ground out and the Spirit maintain the 4-3 lead.

Top 8:

Mike Torres is so. fuckin'. good. ANOTHER RBI for Torres - this one an RBI triple - and it's 5-3 Spirit as Anton French scampers home. Torres is 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Now Luis Lopez adds an RBI double! Torres scores and it's 6-3. Those are two BIG insurance runs. NICE.

I also want to sincerely thank Chris Miyake for hanging McTamney out to dry. :) He FINALLY pulls him now after giving up 6 runs (so far), 11 hits, and a walk. Luis Carreras comes in to pitch for the Rox.

Carreras gets out of the inning. OK. 6 more outs.

Bot 8:

With 1 on and nobody out, Jamie Baker comes in to face Francisco LeBron. No more drama, Baker. Let's close 'em out...

...GAH, LeBron walks... two on, nobody out, and the tying run is up.

And Baker does an ACE job retiring the next three and escaping the jam! YES! 3 more outs.

Bot 9:

Time for Drage to close it out.

F!@#$$$$!!@#!@#!@# Drage loads the bases and Francisco LeBron is up with 2 out......

this is way too dramatic. Did I mention I hate playing in Campanelli Stadium? ahhhhhhhhhhhh

fjwefioajwefoawjiwfeoawje LeBron walks on 4 pitches, to make it 6-4.

John Allen up now with 2 out. LET'S GO DRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

full count.....
ground ball up the middle

DAMNIT, E4 on Roche, and a run scores.......................... it's 6-5 now....................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh jeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Gonzalez up.... come on.... let's go... cmon spirit.......

WOOO!!! WOO HOO HOO HOOOOOOOOOOO... SWING and a miss, strike 3!!!!!! ahhahahaha...YAHOO! Nice... Drage was just toying with them, duh :) SPIRIT WIN 6-5! rejoice

Random ooh-RAH, let's-kick-Brockton's-ass post

GO SPIRIT!!!

Reminder to Brockton fans

Hey Rox fans: I know it's been a tough season, so you're happy to have something to cheer about after last night. But... uh... not to rain on your parade or anything, but last night's doubleheader sweep only means that now, you are just 1.5 games behind the Grays! Huzzah!

SALTED!

Expect a "Who's Now" update later in the day.

Spirit Swept By Rox In DH ; Onwards To Sussex!

Tonight Joe won't make it back till late--so he asked me to do the update tonight.
So here it goes:

FIRST OFF: I want to state that Josue finally got hte recognition he deserves....as he and Joey Siak recieved Player of the Month honors from the Spirit. Congrats on continuing to pitch great Joey and it's nice to know Josue was recognised for a month in which he proved why we should start the official "I ♥ Josue" fan cluib. ^_^

Back to buisness.....
For starters: I want Morse back. :'-[
He was a good guy (from what we saw,at least) and is STILL a damn good pitcher. We were on a 5-game winnign streak going into today, and he derailed us......he is still an awesome pitcher in my opinion.....but too bad we traded him. =[

ANYWAYS--In game one former Spirit Bryan Morse went aginst current Spirit Matt Bishop as the Rox came up to Lynn to finish their weirdly-scheduled series against us. Both pitchers were brilliant in this game, but Morse proved that he is still one of the best pitchers in this league as he went the distance in the 1-0 shutout victory for the Rox.

It was vinatge Morse out there for Brockton. He went the complete game for the Rox pitching a one-hit shutout for the Rox. The Sprit would only come close to scoring once in the 7th. After two straight outs and a Torres walk Luis Lopez came up. He hit a deep ball out to right center......and we all thought it was gone as Brockton CF Matt Maloney chased it down. Then we saw him jump up and reach his glove out......AND ROB LOPEZ OF A 2-RUN BLAST! That was the closest the Spirit came all night....and it was shot down with an amazing catch by the Center feidler.

Bishop only allowed (including last night) 8 hits the entire game to Brockton while striking out 4 and walking 4. Even though Brockton got runners on they didn;t get past second until the 9th. In that inning Matt Maloney, with one out,got a single. That was the end of bishop's night and the start of Derek Drage's. Drago came in and Maloney stole a base, and Andre Alvarado followed that with an rbi single to right. But some bad baserunning lead to a 9/2/4 out. Then Lee Rubin poped up to end the 9th for the Rox.

As you can tell,it was a pretty good pitcher's duel....but in the end only one could prevail, and it's the one we all thought would in this situation.

Now onto game 2:
This game sped by quick, lasting only 1 hour,42 minutes. Game 2 featured former Rox Gary Galvez going against current Rox Mike McTamney. This one wasn't really a pitcher's duel, but the Spirit were still held to little offense as the Rox went on to win 3-1 in this 7-innign affair.

Mike McTamney also went the distance for Brockton, throwing a complete game and allowing only 1 run on 5 hits. The Spirit got their onyl run on an Alex Trezza homer in the 2nd,his 9th of the year. the Spirit got close again the next innign with runners on 2nd and 3r and Trezza up again, but he couldn't come through again-strikign out to end the inning and any threat of scoring from the Spirit.

Galvez almost went the distance for the Spirit, going 6 2/3 innings, but didn't pitch well enough afor a win. In that time he gave up 3 runs on 4 hits while strikign out 5 and walking 3. The Rox got on the board first in the 2nd. The first two batters got on via a walk and getting hit, then Maloney came up and once again helped his team--hitting a three-run bomb, his 2nd of the year,to put the Rox up 3-0. The 7th would be the closest they would come to scoring again,as Julio Soriano c ame in to relieve Galvez in the 7th with runners on 2nd and 3rd to strike out Rubin to end the Rox 7th,and any more scoring.

I also want to add i saw quite a few DeVries Jrs out there today. Not much hustle today.....I felt like chanting run it out a few tiems today. We need a hustle coach--maybe BJ? XD

But,in the end the Spirit came out scoring only 1 hit in 16 innings of baseball on 6 hits, and 2 straight loses.
Now the Spirit move on to a 3-game series in Augusta,NJ aggainst the suckit Skyhawks. This should be an easy couple of wins for us,so let's hope that we can keep up what we've been doing and also cheer them on during this final couple of weeks.

NOW,here's a treat for you all....a post-game wrap-up featuring Joe & Jonathan....

Good and bad news

-There's a chance that by the end of this week, the Spirit's lead in the 2nd half could be larger than the Red Sox lead in the AL East. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

-We have moved into sole possession of first place in the overall standings -> Good.

-If the season ended today, we would play Quebec in the playoffs -> Not so good.

-The Spirit are 5-2 in Brockton this year. This is when I wish the CanAm League left up old scores and statistics... later on this week if I have more time, I will look through Spirit archives to see if this the best record the Spirit have ever had at Campanelli (keeping in mind that we have two more games to play down there next week).

5-1 FINAL in Brockton

The Can-Am Alert Scale has been raised to Red:

The Spirit have been upgraded from "On a roll" to "On a FREAKIN' UNSTOPPABLE roll."

Nothing can stop these guys right now - not a psycho, ball-chucking rightfielder, not 2004 all-star closer John Koch, not even the great John Kelly can derail the Spirit.

Joey Siak's 8 strong innings were certainly the story of the night, but not to be overlooked is the great performance of Alex Trezza. Trez had 4 hits on the night, including an RBI double in the 10th which scored Mike Torres and gave the Spirit a 3-1 lead.

Jamie Baker pitched a scoreless 9th to earn his 3rd win.

Back to Lynn tomorrow...

Roche powers Spirit outburst in the 10th

...In the top of the 10th inning tonight in Brockton, Rox closer John Koch melted down as North Shore jumped out to a 5-1 lead at Campanelli Stadium.

Gary Roche started the explosion with a leadoff double, and he came around to score on a Koch wild pitch. Alex Trezza, Luis Lopez, and John Welch added RBIs as the Spirit went on to score 4 in the 10th.

After Joey Siak tossed 8 solid, one-run innings, Jamie Baker came in to pitch the 9th and is in line for the win.

Derek Drage is 2 outs away from nailing down a big win.

I hear Spirit fans!

You can clearly hear some pro-Spirit folks cheering down in Brockton tonight -- particularly back when the Spirit tied the game. It's great to hear!! It's still 1-1 in the top of the 8th... and Gary Roche has led off the inning with a single. Time to get to Kelly......

A mostly baseball-free post

I didn't get to go to Brockton tonight, unfortunately, but Amanda and I took advantage of the nice evening to take a walk around the Back Bay Fens and watch a few duck families waddle around. We also took a stroll through her future home, Emmanuel College.

Boston really is a beautiful place no matter what time of day or year it is, but something seemed particularly perfect at around dusk and with perfect weather outside. I really do consider it a blessing to live here. We all have our gripes about Boston and Massachusetts, but in the end this really is an extraordinary place to live.

Most of my nights during the summer are baseball-related in some way, so this was a neat change of pace.

Of course, this is all totally unrelated to the topic of this blog, so pardon me.

Back to business:

The Spirit are in Brockton tonight for one game only. I got back to my room and flipped on my radio just in time to hear Jerson Perez rip a clutch RBI single in the top of the 6th to tie the game at 1.

John Kelly and Joey Siak are locking horns in what will surely continue to be an excellent pitchers' duel. Stay tuned...

Morse to Rox

It's been confirmed on Northshorespirit.com that the last original Spirit, Bryan Morse, has been traded to Brockton to complete the deal for Galvez and Hough.

Does that give anyone else an uneasy feeling?

Mea Culpa

That just brings a tear to my eye......

The Spirit pounded Brockton tonight, 14-3, and Josue Lopez had quite possibly the best game any Spirit positon player has ever had. He went 5-FOR-5 with a triple (Dave thankfully has video of this amazing feat), a double, and three singles. Truly unbelievable. Ever since Leahy compared him to Mo Vaughn, he's got 7 hits... so keep it up. Jo-sue might actually be turning it around - which would be huge! WOOOO!

Our thoughts on tonight's MVP:

In addition, Vic returned. North Shore improved to 4-0 with Vic Davilla in the lineup, although Vic did go just 1-4 with a cheap hit in the 9th. I really hope he stays permanently this time.

For the record, WE CALLED IT TONIGHT!! hahahahahaha....

Post game reactions in the car:

Chris Farley didn't have his best stuff tonight, giving up 8 hits in 6 innings, but in a very unSpirit like fashion, North Shore escaped a lot of jams tonight AND were opportunistic at the plate --- and won the game by 11 despite only having 1 more hit than the Rox. When has THAT happened this year?

Gary Galvez was cruising along for Brockton until the 3rd, when Tony Gonzalez dropped a routine fly ball into right by Luis Lopez. That opened the floodgates for the Spirit, leading to an 2RBI double for Josue "MY MAN" Lopez with 2 outs to open the scoring. Jerson Perez added another RBI to make it 3-0.

A job very well done....

In the bottom of the 4th, Gonzalez atoned for his error with a solo blast to right to make it 3-1, but it was as close as Brockton would get.

The rest of the game was a hit parade:
Torres RBI single in the 5th off of Galvez...4-1
Luis Lopez RBI single in the 6th off of Galvez...5-1
Top 6: Josue Lopez scores on a DOUBLE STEAL off of Luis Carreras...6-1
Top 8: Josue Lopez legs out an RBI TRIPLE...7-1
Stevens then came in for Brockton in the 9th and the wheels really fell off:
Luis Lopez brings in two on an E-6 by de La Cruz...9-2
Josue Lopez makes it 5-for-5 with a ribbie single...10-2
BJ Weed with 2RBI single...12-2
The Rox put in right fielder Tony Gonzalez to pitch... he walked Chris Wood and Mike Torres with the bases loaded to make it 14-2.

Yes... Fun IS Good....

Jamie Baker, Donny Langdon and Derek Drage combined to pitch the last three for the Spirit. They were all a bit shaky, but got the job done.

I think everyone can agree with this one.

Hey, at least the Rox had a FEW things to cheer about:

Vic didn't have a very good night...

And Sumo Wrestling always keep the patrons happy. I think the idiot in the red is Chris Miyake. It WOULD sum up his night... :)

Superman, Spirit style........

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:
"It's all fun and games until you [opens the fan scroll] CATCH THE SPIRIT!" -Eric Roberts

Also, I want to add that I called in to the Rox postgame show after the game. First and foremost, the Rox postgame show is GREAT. Why can't we do stuff like that?

The host is awesome, as well - and we had a nice chat. I avoided 'rubbing it in' as best as I could. ;)

At the end, he said that he knows that the Spirit fans have a blog... and that broadcasters around the league read it and pick up valuable information on the Spirit. He also greatly complimented the diehard Spirit fans out there -- we were all over Campanelli tonight.

So, Can-Am broadcasters...thanks for reading... and you're welcome. :)

Just a frustrating night

Well, here we have it – tonight’s game really was a combination of all the factors that have made this season frustrating. Two baserunners gunned down in scoring position, untimely mistakes on the hill, an inning-ending double play just as the Spirit were beginning to rally, and the morphing of Davilla into Kennedy, Jr. It was a frustrating night at Fraser as the Spirit fell 5-2 to Brockton – meaning that the best the Spirit can muster against the 3rd-worst team in the league is an even split with a win tomorrow night at the House of Horrors.

To make things worse, we hit the triple crown – a pizza scream, Fraser Downs, and the tee-shirt toss, all in one night. The good news was, we heard what an enthusiastic crowd of 2,200 CAN sound like……. for anything but actual baseball.

The game got away early --- falling behind 2-0 is usually too much to overcome for this offense, but once the Rox got off to a 5-0 lead, it really was over. In a theme that has been constant throughout his starts this year, Spirit hurler Josue Matos cruised through his first 2 2/3 innings but started to lose it after that. He squeaked his way out of a 3rd inning jam unharmed, but the warning signs were there: Matos was fading.

Matos walked the bases loaded to start the top of the 4th and by this point the 7 or 8 people in attendance paying attention to the game were getting antsy and calling for Vic to at least get someone warming up in the ‘pen. Tony Gonzalez then ripped an RBI single to make it 1-0 Brockton and suddenly the Rox were threatening to put up a huge inning; finally, McNamara began warming up. One more run came in on the inning before a slick play by Jerson Perez started a 6-4-3 inning-ending double play, limiting the damage… Matos escaped further trouble and at that point, should have been taken out of the game.

He was sent back in for the 5th, however, and right then and there I knew it was over. I turned to my partner in crime, Dr. Sparky, and said “Look who’s out there to fall on his sword… good ol’ Josue #2. It’s over now.”

He gave up two singles to start the inning, which led me to think, well, he was left in too long, but hopefully Robinson can come in and escape the jam.

But Matos was left in still, after about 2 innings of struggles, and it finally came back to really, really burn the Spirit – Jason Radwan blasted a 3-run homer to make it 5-0 Rox. With this lineup, that means one thing: o-v-a, ovahhh.

The Spirit finally got some offense going off of Rolando Viera in the 8th. Mike Torres smoked an RBI single which plated Gary Roche, making the score 5-1 and putting runners on the corners with 1 out. Luis Lopez promptly swung at the first pitch from a struggling Viera and grounded into an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play ---- one of the most frustrating moments of the season, surely. I’m glad I have this two-hour or so buffer zone of travel time before blogging, because at the moment I was very upset.

Observations –

1. I think it’s time for everyone named “Josue” and everyone named “Lopez” to go. Package every Josue and every Lopez for Oglesby and de Vries for all I care.

2. Also, Vic needs to return to his proactive style that he showed earlier in the season. This was surely the most frustrating managerial performance of the season.

3. Of course, ideally, we really need Vic to get back in the lineup. In place of Luis Lopez. Now. This lineup is mediocre at best. Have we even had any big comeback wins this year? There was a point in each of the last few seasons where we would have a big 4, 5, 6 run comeback seemingly once every week.

4. This team really looks lethargic. Obviously, more importantly, they just aren’t hitting. But there’s something to be said for the general feeling of lethargy surrounding the team… all of the players, the fans, the owner, the staff, Slugger, the ushers, EVERYONE--- with the exception of Spirit Dance Team Superstar and ace intern Kristen Mooney (Revere High School ’05… I guess I can forgive her for going to sUeConn ’09), who turned in a grade-A performance atop the dugout. It seems like everyone is just playing out the string right now. That is a disturbing trend.

In other news –

Apparently, Bryan Morse has been suspended by the team after various disputes, the nature of which I am basically unaware of. I’m not sure what the whole story is and I don’t want to speculate. All I know is, don’t expect to see Morse on the hill any time soon…

Win!

Spirit win 4-1!

Because of the Spirit-Brockton pseudorivalry, everything feels a tad bigger, but let's not lose sight of the fact that Brockton is a BAD TEAM. Worse than the Grays, even. We should win 3 out of 4 in this series - no question.

Tonight was a great bounceback after yesterday's trouncing at Campanelli. Joey Siak and Mike McTamney battled it out in a tremendous pitchers duel, keeping the score 1-1 until the 7th inning when Josue "Of All People" Lopez ripped a 2-run homer to give the Spirit a 3-1 lead. They added an insurance run in the top of the 9th and Derek Drage closed out the Rox in the bottom half to earn the save.

After giving up a leadoff HR to Joe Hough, Siak retired the next 13 men consecutively. An excellent performance all around.

The scene shifts to Fraser tomorrow night - be there or be square.

GET THE F$!@#! OUT!!!

JOSUE LOPEZ HIT A 2 RUN HOMER IN THE 7TH TO GIVE THE SPIRIT A 3-1 LEAD!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

A half inning ago, Joey Siak got out of a bases loaded jam to keep it tied. Woooooooo!!!
