C'est magnifique

Behind one of the greatest pitching performances in the history of Fraser Field, the North Shore Spirit recovered from two losses last night to beat Quebec 5-0 and split the 4-game series. Bryan Morse got the win, pitching a complete game three-hit shutout. He retired the first 23 batters he faced, carrying the perfect game into the 8th inning with 2 outs when Olivier Lepine's dribbler up the middle broke up the no-no.

Alex Trezza started the offense for the Spirit, cranking a solo home run in the 2nd inning, his 11th of the season. The Spirit padded their lead in the 4th. BJ Weed and Andrew Wishy's 1 out singles were followed up by a bloop single into CF by Jeff Brooks, which scored Weed to make the score 2-0. Weed factored in again in the 5th. With 2 outs, Garrett Weir laced a double. Weed then hit a grounder to shortstop Alex Garcia, who threw the ball over the head of the first baseman, allowing Weir to score and Weed to reach 2nd. Jeff Brooks capped the scoring in the 6th with an absolute bomb of a home run to dead centerfield, making it 5-0.

Meanwhile, Bryan Morse was on cruise control, despite Quebec's best efforts to break up his rhythm. In the 8th inning, Quebec manager Michel Laplante was tossed from the game for arguing balls and strikes after Willie James fanned to open the inning. Quebec players and coaches continued to holler at the umpire after nearly every call that went against them. I'm sure this umpiring crew is not sad to bid them adieu. Morse fought through it all, though, and was never really tested until the 9th inning. With 1 out, Quebec picked up two soft singles on ground balls that Ryan Bethel had trouble with, but Morse got the next man to ground into a double play to end the game.

The Spirit now head to Nashua for a 3-game set, then head to Sussex over the weekend before returning home on the 7th to face New Haven County and Sussex in a 6-game homestand.

I was going to point that out....thanks for making my job ewasier there! :-D

Morse was at his best today. If this isn't THE BEST PITCHING PERFORMANCE EVER @ FRASER,then at least it's top 3 worthy. Morse was FANTASTIC today,Mr & Mrs Morse must have been proud. Bryan was great,he struck out 10 while allowing only three singles (one everyone thinks should've been an error on Bethal,I dunno bout that though). That's all I can really say.,....besides Quebec sucks!!!

These snakes-in-the-grass are notorious for stalling, and they showed even the frequenters why they're known for that. Arguing balls/stirkes for like 5 min?? Getting ejected from the dugout for yelling at the umps??? AArguing with the umps and even touching them, but not gettign ejected??? WTF?!?!?! The umps shoudlve said "If you want to stall any longer why doesn't your entire team go on the field and dance to the music of the chicken dance???". That line I said is humorous to me,but Dave's won it. He went down to Laplante and said something VERY funny, although I don't remember it. (Dave, could you post that mini conversation between you and Frenhcie? That's gotta be shared.)

Other than the stall-tactics that eventually got to Morse,it was a great game. I can't wait until next Monday for the Spirit to return....I'm sooo pumped right now because of today's win tat I just can't wait now!!! ^_^

PS: It was one of their four catchers,#17 Ernest Woodruff, that got ejected. Jesus,4 catchers?!?! Ya think they got enough?

I asked LaPlante, after the eight inning, to go home and take the cry-baby shit back to Quebec w/him. There's no place for that kinda' crap in this league. You are
supposed to be a professional, try actin' like one.

He gave me the finger and said " have a nice day"

I told him to Fuck-off before he got a French Dip stuffed up his ass.
