Surprise

Looks like Morgan Brown (the #7 du jour) is gone.

Paired with Fisch's arrival, I'd say this means BJW to 2nd base, with Ryan Bethel to the Utility IF spot.

That's just my guess. We'll find out at 12.. oh wait, no we won't becuase it's not on the radio. My bad

when, in the history of radio, has a LIVE EVENT been pre-empted for a talk show?? It usually goes the other way around...

I know that only like 5 people listen to Spirit games, but how many people listen to their shitty ass talk shows? 6 maybe?

Anyhoo-
Is St. Paul in contention this season? That will ahve a lot to do with when they want their player in return (and who they'd demand)

Additionally, WE REALLY NEED the Pride to tank and stop this upswing, because if they suck, our "player to be named later" from the Lavergne deal might actually turn out to be a good player- maybe even Lavergne himself. If the Pride keep winning and stay in the race, we won't get much.

I sincerely hope you are mistaken about " 5 people listening to Spirit games." I would hope that our efforts are bringing in more listeners than that.

Let me try and shed some light on our broadcasts on the Zone. During the offseason, after we found out that we were losing WESX, we negotiated with several radio stations in the area. The ONLY station that could accommodate our need to broadcast these games was 1510 the Zone.

For the longest time, we were faced with the possibility of going Internet only with no radio. Because we are affiliated now with a major radio media outlet, we had to make a few concessions to make the deal work- and one of them was that there were certain games that we would have to yield to their programming and go to tape delay.

All of this was done to accommodate our growing and loyal fan base, and to ensure that EVERY PITCH will be heard by our fans.

We are working very hard to give Spirit fans the quality broadcast coverage they deserve.

I appreciate your patience and tolerance.

I don't doubt the broadcast quality.

The broadcasts are EXCELLENT. And the signal is 10000x better.

But it's pretty aggravating when the games are preempted by TALK SHOWS- and s#!tty ones at that.

I see no reason as to why they can't AT LEAST air the game live on the 'net, then play it on the radio on tape delay.

Mr. Leahy

I am certain that Joe's tongue-in-cheek comment on the listeners or their quantity is borne of the frustration that many of the loyal fan base feel.

Let's face facts:
1. If you know the outgame of a game via CanAm site, SPIRIT site or whatever source, and that game is on a delayed broadcast, you are NOT tuning in.....period. That's just the way it is.

Wait for a delayed broadcast of a doubleheader?,... No.

While I fell we as fans can all agree the quality of the broadcasts is great and alot of fun, the delayed "deal" sucks.

I gotta' listen to a NASCAR race?......No.
I gotta' listen to hockey weekly, 3 weeks after the season is over, ...NO.

You state their were "certain games" would have to yield the their programming.
How many constitues a "certain" amount?.
It seems to me that they preempt SPIRIT bBaseball for every ridiculous excuse for programming they can find.
I mean not to disollusion You Mr. Leahy, however not even close to "every pitch" is being heard by the fans.
I feel Joes' idea, if technically possible, makes a great deal of sense; what about that idea?.

I certainly understand your point.

I wish I could help with the feelings of frustration.

As for the Internet, the Zone and SPIRIT websites cannot stream the game live if a radio signal is not picking up the game live. The stream starts when the radio broadcast signal starts.

At least that is my understanding.

Soon the tape delayed games will be over for the year and at that point everything will be live.
