In a one-game series against the Bangor Lumberjacks, the Spirit enhanced their record to 19-16 with a 2-0 win on Monday night at Fraser Field in Lynn. Spirit pitcher Miguel Baez (4-1) went the distance allowing just four hits and striking out seven.

Carlos Sepulveda was two for four driving in both runs of the game with a single and a double. In the first inning, Mike Tejada (2-4) doubled down the right field line and was brought home by Sepulveda’s single. Tejada reached base on an error in the sixth inning and was waved home by Sepulveda’s double.

Jason Startari and Sepulveda had key defensive stops in the first inning to keep the Lumberjacks off the board. Centerfielder John Schmitz also had a key play to keep Bangor at bay. John Vigue picked up the loss for Bangor after seven innings.
