Former Red Sox Pitcher Rich Garces Signs with the Nashua Pride

How hilarious is this? It'll be GREAT to see El Guapo again. I had thought he dropped off the face of the earth...

He was great back in his days with the Sox. It's early to say but does anyone not think this is a big move for Nashua?

Actually, we do: El Guapo posted a 2.31 ERA in the VWL this year. These aren't exactly beer-league players he was pitching against.

El Guapo already earned us a mention as WEEI broke Indie League Omerta during their 20-20 Sports Flash. Nashua is bracketed by two good affiliated teams (Manchester and Lowell) and needs something like this to break out and draw fans from the Boston area.

Tom King adds as a postscript that Andy Dillard finished college and is entering the business world. So Spirit fans won't have him to kick around any more.
