The countdown really is on.

Check out the right hand side where I have some roster statistics going into camp. I'm guessing between now and opening day four pitchers will be cut, one of the catchers shipped off, one of the OFs gone [probably Rodriguez], and an extra infielder brought in. We shall see.

Now that I think about it though, I wonder if they will keep Rodriguez around. The guy hit .307 with 13 dingers just a few years ago in Nashua against tougher competition in the Atlantic League. Last year was a down year for him, but his stats are still pretty solid overall. I think a lot of it depends on whether or not Morse is coming back - not a guarantee given his age.

Any information or speculation?

Hey -- BC did a great job -- but it is a tough way to lose. But I always enjoy when that fraud Parker at BU loses.

It's OK, Jack Parker is snuggling up right now with a nice bottle of Jack Daniels.

It may have been a tough day for the Eagles on Saturday, but it was even tougher for BU's so-called Hobey candidate John Curry, who double-bogeyed nine straight holes and wound up shooting a 94...

Little "birdie" told me:
Rodriguez an Blakely will probably start with Fischer (who is staying)
Cordova and JP will shore up the middle infield, with the Big guy @ 1st base...(name escapes me,6'4" 220). Morse is here to play and will probably be opening day starter. Trezza is most likely NOT available as he is in extended spring and will go to A or AA ball.

More as the "birdie" sings.
