It's been a busy day. [4 new front page stories on one day? I don't even do that during the season!] The Spirit have signed C/IF Juan Gutierrez, who spent last year at single-A Delmarva.

His stat page reveals that tore up some lower level leagues a few years ago before being rather mediocre at high A ball. His career minor league average is .265 with 26 dingers and 163 RBI in 1051 AB. His OBP is a decent .351. Perhaps he will become the catcher, moving Torres to 1B and big Brad Rea to the DH spot?

Has anyone heard anything about Ryan Bicondoa?? I look for him on the minor league websites, but I am not having any luck!

Bicondoa was released in December and his rights are being held by St. Paul
