All streaks come to an end

The Jackals downed the Spirit 6-2 tonight to salvage game 4 in Little Falls.

Gary Galvez actually did pretty well overall - he got roughed up for 3 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd, but he settled down after that to get through seven innings.

Wilton Veras had the key blow, a 3-run homer in the 3rd to really put it out of reach.

Jackals' starter Kevin Ool was a tough nut to crack tonight, giving up 2 runs on 8 innings. The Spirit didn't get to him until the 7th, when they put up 2 runs -- but a GIDP by Joe Hough with the bases loaded ended the rally.

Old friend Kevin Fitzgerald pitched a scoreless 9th to hold down the lead.

The Spirit end their road slate with a 28-13 record away from Fraser Field. They also wound up splitting the season series with New Jersey, 4-4.

Back to Fraser tomorrow to start the regular season-ending homestand.

Out of Town:

New Haven lost - meaning the magic # to finish ahead of them is 1.

Brockton and Quebec are locked up in an 8-8 tie in the top of the 7th - LET'S GO ROX!

If Brockton gets the victory, the Spirit can clinch a playoff spot with a win at home tomorrow.

UPDATE: BROCKTON TAKES THE LEAD!!! 11-8, a 3 run double for McGee. Brockton has 17 hits in the game.

UPDATE 2
: Brockton wins! Magic# 1
