Yesterday's game was U-G-L-Y. So UGLY that I left in the 5th inning and tossed my scorecard. I was so sick and disgusted that I couldn't even bring myself to write a game story to describe the horrid carnage. So I'm taking the lazy way out today.

CAN-AM LEAGUE RECAP 6/19/05 *****************************************
GRAYS 10, NORTH SHORE 5@ Lynn, Mass. Time: 3:06 ATT: 2,008W: Roberto Nieves (1-1) L: Ryan Bicandoa (2-2) S: NoneHR: GRY – Francisco Lebron 2 (3,4)Itching to rebound from last night’s shutout, the Grays came out of the gates hard today, and it showed. They got on the board early and often, taking a 10-2 lead by the sixth inning as 3B Larry Best scored three runs, C Brad Hargreaves drove in three RBI, and 1B Francisco Lebron hammered two towering solo home runs to lead the Grays offensively. Roberto Nieves was resourceful and crafty in his start today, spreading four hits and seven walks over six innings, amounting to just one earned run. Best led all batters with three hits on the day, bringing his average up to an impressive .353 on the season.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW HAVEN 9, BROCKTON 6@ West Haven, Conn. Time: 3:06 ATT: 1,450W: Nick Rowland (3-1) L: Jon Koch(1-1) S: NoneHR: NHC – Derrick Gibson (3), Bill Peavey (4)Baseball is all about patience, and if anyone asks, New Haven 2B Keith Stegbauer is an expert. Stegbauer was 0-3 on the day heading into the sixth inning, with the Cutters nursing a fragile 3-1 lead. After an intentional walk with two outs loaded the bases, Stegbauer sat back and dropped a 2-RBI single into left field. The following inning he would do it again, slapping another 2-RBI single up the middle, this time nailing the coffin shut on the Rox, who had pulled the score even at 5-5 in the top half of the inning. LF Derrick Gibson also continued his hot streak from the plate, going 2-4 on the day, with a double, another home run, and two runs scored.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
QUEBEC 3, ELMIRA 0 innings**@ Elmira, NY. Time: 2:33 ATT: 719W: Shawn Ryan (1-0) L: Chris Roque (0-3) S: Christian Mendoza (8)HR: Todd Leathers (8)Very rarely does a team win in extra innings by more than one run, but Quebec managed to do just that as 1B Todd Leathers drilled a three-run home run, his only hit of the day, to win the game for Les Capitales 3-0. Up to the extra frames, the pitching had clearly dominated the game, especially Quebec’s Marty Janzen, who went a full nine innings of shutout ball, but didn’t get enough run support for the Complete Game shutout win. The Pioneers created chances throughout the game, but simply couldn’t finish what they started, stranding eleven runners on base when all they needed was a single run scored. Les Capitales have now won nine of their last eleven games. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
WORCESTER 6, NEW JERSEY 2 @ Little Falls, NJ. Time: 3:08 ATT: 4,077W: Mike Cox (1-1) L: Julio Perez (0-2) Save: NoneHR: NoneThe Worcester pitching staff did an excellent job today of limiting New Jersey’s trio of Zach Smithlin, Joe Jiannetti, and John Lindsay, holding the big three to just two hits and one RBI combined. On the other side of the ball, the Tornadoes’ offense cut loose, with their triumvirate of Josh Beauregard, Andy Brown, and Alex Nunez combining for 9 hits, two doubles, five runs scored, and four RBI. The Jackals scored first, but couldn’t mount any sustained offensive output, adding their second, and final, run in the fifth, while the Tornadoes were just beginning to heat up. While they didn’t get on the board until the fourth, Worcester used runs in five straight innings to push them to their second victory in less than 24 hours and a comfortable 5-game lead in the South Division.

Sloppy playing,hitting,pitching...EVERYTHING!!! That was the worst game I've seen all year except for that game a Sunday or 2 ago with all the ejections! Hopefully we do good in the double-header!
