Ok...I,being original and all,am going to write tonight's game report and include a picture :-p: North Shore 2, New Jersey 1@ Lynn, MA. Time: 2:46 Attendance: 2,169 W: Jared Trout (3-4) L: Joe Orloski (5-8) S: Kevin Fitzgerald (20) HR: NS-Alex Trezza (15)North Shore managed only three hits in the game, but scored two runs, which was enough to knock off New Jersey 2-1. Starting pitcher Jared Trout was outstanding, allowing just one run over six innings to pick up the win. Closer Kevin Fitzgerald pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his league leading 20th save. C Alex Trezza provided the only extra base hit for the Spirit when he hit his 15th homerun of the season. New Jersey had eight hits in the game, with C Clay Kuklick driving in the lone Jackals run. -- David "Cut-And-Paste" Riley ^_^

Not my best picture,but here's Trezza's homer.

3 hits?.
3 Lousy hits?.
What in the h-e double hockey sticks is going on with this team?, and where would we be without the likes of Trout, Siak and the guys keeping the opponents from running whoop-ass on us?.
Didn't make the game and I am wondering who pitched the short relief?.
Nice wrap Dave, especially the Pic.
Ya,the place was REALLY quiet without the likes of you and Joe.
So that you know, the relievers were Rival (2 IP,3K,1 hit batter,1 hit) and Fitzy (1IP,1 hit). Trout went a pretty impressive 6 innings, stirking out 5 and walking two while giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits.
Our offense has sucked. We need to start hitting again....we can not always rely on our starters to hold down the opponents. It also seems like the guys struggled to figure out Jackal starter Mike Vicaro. We need to figure the pitchers out early, and strike early.
I will take that as a compliment as I am certain that is the manner in which it was intended.
Nice wrap Dave, Thanks.
wheres the NHCC pictures????
I haven't heard anything of the like, but it wouldn't surprise me. Lynn govt sucks. We should have a goddamn hockey team!
i heard that last night too
I wonder what, if anything can be done to help out Nick.
We, as fans, have I think a certain responsibility to AT LEAST make an attempt to bring whatever influence we can to bear on this "situation".
Let's face it:
Nick Lopardo, whether you love or hate him, agree or disagree with him is the ONLY one who has stepped up to bring baseball here to the North Shore.
Being basically apolitical, I wouldn't have the slightest notion as to where to begin.
Perhaps some of the fans live in Lynn and are more intimately aware of or are involved in local politics?.
What are the governing bodies that are holding the fate of the SPIRIT in their hands and how can we influence them?.
I absolutely HATE the feeling of impotence and/or inability to lend assistance to this situation.
Does this sound naiive?,.. perhaps.
Anyone got any ideas?.
I haven't heard anything about that(and if I did I don't think he'd break down in tears). If Nick leaves this city I wouldn't blame him whatsoever. This city has taken him for granted. MANY people don't appreciate what he's done, and those same people don't give a shit about him or the team.
It's sad really. Nick's done so much for this city, and what has he gotten in return? VERY little. If he leaves then this city loses the best thing to happen to it in years.....I hope though that he doesn't leave. I don't know what the city would do without him. Many jobs are lost, some local businesses may lose a bit of profit, and the city may go back to a compelete shithole again.
On the plus side,he has to think...
1) Next year there'll be more parking
2) Manning Field will be close to,if not, completed
3) We're in the playoffs,we have been 3-out-of-4 years
4) Attendance isn't great,but we're doing very good.
I still think that we have to do a better job advertising this team. Outside of Lynn, not many people know the team exists (including some IN Lynn).
wow, dave, i thought u were joking. apparently, based on the responses of everyone else, ur not lol
what is the issue? the lynn government? doing what? not supporting the team?
someone catch me a up a bit...
