Wild Speculation

Remember last year when there was all of that buzz about the Atlantic League putting a team in Boston, but Nick was opposed to it and was going to block it?

Think that's back on the table again?

The next city council meeting is tomorrow and the one after that isn't until oct. 9, which is after the owners meeting so I don't know what to do. They also told my Grandma we can't speak unless we get put on the agenda and they might not put us on. And my Grandma usually works Tuesday night. Any ideas?

Weren't they going to put that in Dorchester?
At least according to:
www.dotnews.com/baseballstadium.html
People bitch about Western Ave. in Lynn. I know I wouldn't go to a baseball game in Dorchester. I don't want to get shot in a driveby on my way to the ballpark. Plus to get there from Lynn is almost impossible without a car. The commuter rail from Central Sqaure only runs about every 90 minutes and is expensive when you're talking about taking a whole family not mention the subway fare on top of that. If the Spirit couldn't make it in Lynn I doubt a park in Dorchester would last.

Boston Baseball Field of Dreams, LLC, is working to bring minor league baseball to Boston. This guy has $ and keeps running into roadblocks in Boston. He's interested in CanAm & Atlantic. Wonder if he could be persuaded to keep the Spirit at Fraser Field.

I have 508 signatures. 250 are online and 258 are on paper. Grandma is going to try to get us a meeting at city hall next week and once she does I'm going to email reporters and ask them to come. I want all you guys to come with me too if you can.
It's not too late to sign online or print out petitions

dont know anything about that but i think we should all plan a road trio down to Mississippi soon cause Nick is building a huge resor down there complete with a minor league baseball team, plus i heard he is keeping the name Spirit!!
seriously we should show our support!

Victoria had an interesting idea this morning that I want to run by you. She suggested a rally on Western Ave. in front of Fraser Field this Friday evening maybe at 5:30. She wants to have people bring SOS signs and wear their Spirit clothing. She also wants to email the media. What do you think? is that enough time to pull it together? I'm afraid a poor turnout will do more harm than good if we don't get enough people there. What do you think?

This is our Nick Lopardo
Myriad Botanical Resort in Tunica

Chairman Nick Lopardo said the $1.3 billion version of the project will get done.
"The major thing we've done is we've decided that to build six casinos, six hotels, a convention center and water and snow park to come out of the ground was not realistic," he said.
The new plan: Two casinos with hotels, 125,000 to 150,000 in convention space -- down from 375,000 in the original vision -- with a 600-room hotel, the water-snow park, wellness and health spa, a 6,000-seat covered stadium and a golf course, including the original idea of enclosing the course in a bubble burst.
Myriad agreed to buy more than 500 acres in the northwest part of Tunica county and close on the deal Aug. 1. That was pushed back to Oct. 2.
